October 25, 2014 VANDERBILT ESTATE

This blog is late due to many time consuming commitments the week after the walk.
It was a pretty, sunny day with a pleasant fall temperature and eight of us walked.  Four of us brunched at the Eveready Diner.

What happened here?

We arrived at the river.

This building is across a little cove...home or business?   Lots of windows.

This steep uphill trail is shorter but more strenuous than the paved road.

The fountain in the garden.

One of several of the last roses of summer.

Pretty leaves surrounding the window.

Enjoying the view in front of the mansion.

A barge on the river.

The mansion is just barely visible.

Unusual tree.

OCTOBER 18, 2014 TYMOR PARK

It was mostly cloudy with some occasional sun peeking through.  We numbered eleven.  After the walk, five of us enjoyed brunch at McKinney and Doyle in Pawling.  After we ate, we took a scenic "short cut" home.
It's such a pretty place I took many pictures and am sharing far too many.

It's mostly flat in the beginning

Pat graciously cleared a path for me so I could take this picture

We did quite a bit of climbing after the dam...keeping our heart rate up

There were many boulders strewn along one area of the stream.

Before I returned home I stopped at the Bashakill near Wurtsboro.  Here are two views.
