August 16, 2014 Cary Institute

Another great day for walking...sun, not too hot, actually chilly when we got there.  There were eight of us and we walked the red and blue trails, making the full loop.
Four of us had a good lunch at the Happy Days Restaurant on Rte 44 near the institute.

A NOTE ABOUT THE PICNIC at Fahnestock on September 20th.  We have rented the pavilion so it will happen rain or shine.

we began with fields of flowers

uprooted

we saw and I photoed several mushrooms/fungi,  Some were unusual.

We thought these were flowers but maybe they're fungi also

We walked along the Wappingers Creek

A stream on its way to the creek.

Something tore up this trunk

Nature's planter

The creek is now a long way down
