It was sunny and warm with a pretty blue sky. There were ten of us. Unfortunately I confused some people by changing the directions. I pretty much Google directions just to be sure since I'm directionally impaired...and I had done so here. The site directions show a left turn after the Dinsmore Golf Course onto Mills Mansion Road so that's what I wrote. Those who followed my directions discovered that the left turn was actually labeled Old Post Road, Needless to say, this was confusing and I apologize for creating it. [I just turned left and didn't read the sign so that wasn't a problem but it's a bit of a drive to the mansion and I was beginning to wonder if there was a mistake. But we all made it and it turned out to be a pretty good walk.
As we started to walk down to the river, a ranger came by and handed us new site maps. They're much more detailed and turned out to be mostly helpful. We opted for the white trail along the river and ended up walking almost all the way to the Norrie Point marina. We were looking for what appeared to be a purple trail [turns out that's the paved road] that would lead us back to the blue trail and the mansion. We found the trail and it turned out to be nice and wide.
The walk and the heat got to be too much for me and I wasn't sure I'd make it up the final hill to the parking lot. Luckily Alice rescued me.
Four of us brunched at the Eveready.

It was really pretty here. |
The tide was definitely out. |
This was off in the distance and hard to identify but telephoto lens helped. |

It was quite a way down to the river at some points. |
It seems every place we walk has a stone wall. |
