These two parks were new to most of us and, since they are both short walks and near each other in Hyde Park, the walks were combined. This worked out well because it was a very hot and humid day; fortunately both were through the woods and shaded. We numbered only eight.
We began at Pinewoods which had only one trail and then drove to Hackett Hill where we chose the green trail. There are two other trails and on another day we would have had no problem walking all three
After the walk, two of our group decided to continue walking at nearby Winnakee and three of us dined at the Eveready Diner.
It was a nice trail through the woods |
Crum Elbow Creek |
There was a small waterfall |
A little trickle here thanks to some recent much needed rain. |
There's a very nice house barely visible through the trees |
We headed past the ball fields on the way to Pinewoods parking. |
The Hackett Hill trail |
Some art work that was handing from a tree. |
There were signs for giant rock and I think this was it. |
