6/11/16 STAATSBURG [MILLS MANSION]

Thunderstorms were predicted but, as usual, on iffy days we take a chance.  There were 13 of us.  As we walked along the "middle" path, we heard a loud sound...thunder?  nope an airplane.  We opted to cross over to the return trail at mid point and it was a good thing because the next loud sounds we heard were thunder.  What a great place to be...in the woods next to a river.
We quickened our pace and got a bit wet in the beginning rain.  Six of us headed for the Eveready Diner and as soon as we got inside the heavens opened.  Breakfast is always good there and the rain stopped by the time we were done eating.  So, I decided to stop at the Beatrix Farrand Gardens to take some flower pix.
