11/17/18 Unfortunately last walk of season is cancelled due to snow on trails.

The trails are supposedly not plowed and there's concern that it could be a problem.  In addition I had car problems that I was afraid wouldn't be solved in time to get to walk.  Happy Holidays to all and hope we do better next year

7/14/18 HYDE PARK GREENWAY

This was a new walk for us.  It connects to some of the trails at Norrie Point.  It was a bit humid and sunny.
There were only six of us and five of us had brunch at the Eveready.

Rock crossing - glad the water wasn't very high.

Just about everywhere we walk we encounter a rock wall.

Another rock crossing.

7/21/18 THE FOUNDRY

We began our walk from the opposite entrance so we had a different perspective this time.  It was a bit warm but okay.  We numbered nine and seven of us had brunch at the 84 Diner

We usually walk up the stairs here but this time we came down after visiting the former pond area.

There are many waterfalls

The only "wildlife" we saw

We noticed that the center portion looked new and it was apparently done between our walks in 2015 and 2016

7/28/18 TACONIC HEREFORD

This was a new walk for us and I chose the exit off the Taconic for the parking area.  There's also a parking area at Tyrell Road and we'll use that one next time.  I knew it  was probably a dirt road right off the Taconic [and it was] and that it wasn't far north of the Rossway Road Exit.  The sign for the park wasn't obvious and it came up suddenly. and we just barely made the turn in time.  A couple of the others had to go to the nearby exit and turn around.
It was very humid and we got QUITE warm and the trails were a bit confusing but do-able and we decided we'll do it again but from the other parking area.
There were six of us and we all enjoyed lunch at the Daily Planet.

This is the exit and that's humidity in the air

One of the trails

The map showed a termite mound and, although they don't show in this pic, the residents looked more like ants
there were many fungi and I photographed many of them
Pretty ferns
An eft

We didn't know what these were and the next day FB showed a pic of ghost pipes.  They are symbiotic with fungi,

We encountered some mud
